• My name is Don Kennedy. On October 1, 2006, my son, Bryce, made the choice to get in the truck with a friend who had been drinking. Consequently this choice cost Bryce his life. Bryce was only 19 and in the prime of his life. In the spring of 2008 after sharing my family’s story at a Shattered Dreams program at Hawley High School. I realized the incredible impact it made on the students. Inspired by this potential to impact young lives, I decided to start Bryce Kennedy Memorial, Inc. with family and friends.

Educational Alcohol Awareness programs such as Shattered Dreams can be costly. The main purpose of Bryce Kennedy Memorial, Inc. is to raise money to provide funds to schools or other organizations so they are able to host programs about underage drinking, impaired driving, alcohol awareness, and especially prevention.

On October 11, 2008, the First Annual Bryce Kennedy Memorial, Shattered Clays for Shattered Dreams, Sporting Clay Event was held. Funds from our annual event have been used to make a difference by providing grants towards Shattered Dreams Programs in schools, academic scholarships for Shattered Dreams participants, sponsoring community events regarding alcohol awareness, providing funds for Project Graduation and purchasing teaching aids such as “drunk goggles” to use at events and for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

We are excitedly planning for our 12th Annual Event to be held August 17, 2019. Registration begins at 7:30am. Coffee and breakfast provided. Round 1 at 8:30, Round 2 at 11:00, Lunch at 11:00. Round 3 if needed at 1:30 at Abilene Clay Sports. The Evening event starts at 6:30pm at the Abilene Convention Center. Our evening will include a wonderful dinner sponsored by Texas Roadhouse, dessert bar sponsored by The Flour Shop, shooter awards, silent auction and some great entertainment.

We raise money through sponsorships, donations, memorials and participation in our sporting clay event. We are kindly asking for your support in our effort to continue educating young people about the dangers of underage drinking and impaired driving, alcohol awareness and prevention. We hope you will consider partnering with us for our upcoming event. Bryce Kennedy Memorial, Inc. is a 501c3 organization and your donation may be tax deductible. Together WE can make a difference.
